Built In Ftp Server Remote Access?

Hello, I have set up a FTP server on my WHS 2011 machine in Albuquerque, but the setup was so simple that I feel I must be missing something, lol.

I installed the FTP services as you normally do in Web Server (IIS), but when I went to create a new site, it already had a "Create FTP Site" button (I never seen this before on other server OS's).

So I used that ftp site feature, and I created a ftp server pointing to my DrivePool pool A:\ServerFolders directory. And in a flash the wizard surprisingly finished and did not tell me what to do next. Yes, I guess I need my hand held lol because that seemed stupidly simple.

Do I now simply connect using something like FileZilla client? I deleted the ftp site and created it again just because it seemed to simple. I now created another site and gave it "All users and read only access". I just want to make sure its working remotely before I waste time on creating users/directories/permissions etc.

So, what do I type into the browser or ftp client to access this newly created ftp site? And why does it not give you this information, or the url etc? Also, it has a "Enable Virtual Host Name" which seems to suggest I could give it a name like ftp.myserver.com but that seems highly unlikely to work. Or is it based on the fact that I would create a name that is unique?

Something like ftp://domain.ftp.server1 dot com would be very nice but again how the heck can it do that?

I admit I am new to creating sites as I normally just access the machines using the normal remote function, but that does not work so good when your on a time constraint and want faster upload/download access to files without a time or file size limit.

Oh and no I can't seem to get FileZilla server to work, so this is my next obvious step to try. The machine I want to connect to is on Comcast business extreme 150 and my machine I want to connect from is on CenturyLink 50/5 home server about 30 miles away. The remote machine is behind a NetGear Nighthawk R7000. And this home machine is using the stock ActionTec C1000A. And yes I have perfect access using the domain name and remote access via https://domainname.homeserver.com/Remote. HTTPS works great, just not FTP?

Has anyone else tried the built in FTP site functions on WHS 2011? If so, how did you access your server remotely?
