Hi all - Hoping for a little advice here.
I've got an HP Media Smart EX 485 running WHS v1. I've recently had to get a new system drive and added some data drives as well. I also had to replace my power supply. While I've had to do all this work, my files were essentially unaccessable. In the future, I'd like to be able to access my stuff when the server is down, and I'm wondering what options I have.
I just a bought a a Toshiba 1tb external hdd and was thinking of attaching that to the server and somehow set it up either to sync the files I wanted to have access to or to set up some sort of automatic backups of the files I want. There's a lot of talk of backups on the forum, but most of it seems to be about backing up my local pcs to the server in case those pcs go down.
What options are available to me to have that extra redundancy? Meaning, what's the best way to go about keeping external (easily removable/transferrable/portable) copies of the data I have stored on my server?
Thanks in advance!
