I'm in the process of moving to NAS with a RAID system
Currently I've got 2 x 3 TB and 4 x 2 TB making a total of 14 TB drive space, all on one volume. In this volume I'm using 5,21 TB of the available space
What I want to do is contract the current volume (to a bare minimum without deleting files), remove disks and insert them to new NAS, create a RAID array (suggestions on which type is also welcome) and then move files from desktop to NAS and end up with all drives and files on the NAS
How would one proceed to achieve this? I'm mostly interested in the contraction part of the NTFS partition as I'm afraid I will lose my files
I'm planing on using Windows Server 2012 Essentials
