Hi
Have just installed whs2011, and one by one moved my drives from my old server, to my new.
I have 3x2TB wd greens for my movies.
So I installed whs2012 smart, and allthough in my old server also had smart installed, it did not report any errors.
Now in the new one, one of the drives is being reported as critical..having over 65.000 pending bad sectors.
The drives had the jumper 7-8 pin set for being in the pool on the old server. I moved the drives with the jumper set, copied the data off of the drive, and shutdown. Took away the jumper, started up, and deleted the volume and created again. This because WHS2011 can handle advanced format drives.
The wd data lifeguard is reporting no errors. Both stablebit scanner and whs smart reports the same error.
Two of the drives are wd20ears, and stated on the sticker as advanced format, and the last drives is wd20erz..the 64 mb cache and sata 3 also advanced format.
I used a tip using a fsutil fsinfo ntfsutil on the drives, and only the sata 3 drive is stated as advanced format. What is going on!
