Using Itunes On A Server

Hey Guys,
Just a quick rundown of my system first....
HP Microserver running WHS 2011. Runs Squeezebox Server, and shared drives
Squeezebox Radio - Music from Squeezebox Server
WD Live TV - Films & TV shared via shared drives on Server
Popcorn Hour C200 - Films & TV Shared via shared drives on Server
Dell Studio 1755 Windows 7 Laptop - iTunes installed, with music from shared drive on server

i have recently upgraded to WHS2011, and I have also always shyed away from even putting itunes near my server. I have had to use it, due to iPhones and iPads galore in the house. It was a really buggy piece of software, but the new one, even though very very far from perfect, seems to be slightly quicker.
I think that it is a bit silly having 2 different music databases - itunes and squeezebox server. I know that squeezebox server can read itunes to get it's data, but I was wondering if there is a better, easier way of making sure that both music databases are up to date, with the same info? I was thinking about installing itunes on the server, getting all the database correct, sharing it to my laptop (just to sync with iphones and ipods) as well as making sure squeezebox server uses the itunes database for its info. Does this sound like the bst idea??

Thanks in advance..

Nick
