WHS dropped offline a couple days ago - finally noticed today.
Pulled the drives and ran chkdsk /f on data drives 2,3&4 - the boot drive (1) appears to be the culprit.
So, question is - what's the best way to restore if all the data drives are in tact but the boot drive is dead. I believe I've dealt with data drives before but never the boot drive.
Obviously, I'll have to use the reinstall dvd/cd's but then what? Do you wait to put the data drives in? Is there a documented procedure? Don't want to mess this up. Obviously, I know I can pull data off of the data drives - but don't want to loose all that as part of trying to fix this.
Suggestions welcome!
