Hi all.
I'm a WHS newbie who has setup a home server for my family. I'm currently retired, but have worked with Netware 3.1x, Windows NT and Win2K servers earlier in my carreer, so thought WHS2011 would be fun to play with at home.
I have a question about access-logging. This is probably very basic and obvious to most of you, and I really appreciate the help. What I'm trying find is a log of every login-attempt to my website, both successes and failures, by time and IP address. Surely this must exist.
What I'm asking about is the canned "Windows Home Server 2011 - Remote Web Access" https dialog.
When I look through the security logs on the server, there's a daunting amount of stuff in there, yet nothing seems to be about user's who have logged in successfully, or those who have attempted to login, but failed for some reason.
Would someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction, or perhaps to where I can learn more about how to do this specifically? Do I need to 'Filter' ther server's logs in some fashion (by event id or some keyword) to extract the info I'm trying to find?
Or do I need to modify the canned website using ASP, etc, to make my own access log? Or maybe there's a 'plug-in' that does this? I feel like such a moron.
Thanks in advance.
Rich
