I need to purchase and install a NAS for someone and need advice on which make and model.
The person concerned is retired so it needs to be low maintenance and simple to copy files to it.
He wants to store approx 600-700GB of video and 270GB of photos and would like them to be accessible from a Windows XP computer, Widows 7 computer, iPad and iPhone.
There needs to some way to back it up or otherwise guard against data loss.
It also needs to be simple to set up (because I've never done this before) and simple to initially populate (200Gb of the video is on a Windows XP computer and the rest is on an external hard drive, the photos are on another external hard drive).
In the future he may want to view the files on the NAS on a TV.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
