New Router Setup Advice

I am having problems with my wireless router and it's time for an upgrade. I am running an i5 CPU with 8TB in DrivePool and am using this to transcode movie files and stream them remotely when I am away from home (they are normally 1GB MP4 files). I'm not looking for bells and whistles in this router, just one that has great performance for remote streaming. I have looked at a few gigabit routers, but am fairly new to networking and what to look for in a router.

I am willing to spend up to $100, but will hear all words of advice. Thanks!
