Starting a new topic on my RWA problem for my WHS2011 home server.
From any PC on my network, my public IP will appear as 199.xx.xxx.xx, in my router, the IP assigned from my ISP is 172.xx.x.x. When setting up RWA, it shows the 172.xx.x.x IP. I believe this is my issue as to not being able to connect to my home server remotely. No where in my router does the 199.xx.xxx.xx IP show up. However, in my DNS server portion of my router, there is a similar IP of 199.xx.xxx.x, all numbers being the same except for the last set.
I've contacted my ISP about this issue and am awaiting call back. I've had their service for years, and my public IP was exactly what my router showed. No equipment has changed. What did change is that I went with a new ISP for faster throughput, and while it was faster, the latency was terrible. I switched back within the same month. Their equipment never left my house, I simply plugged it back in and was off and running, only with this totally new IP (originally, my public IP was ~169.xx.xxx.xx), in the router, there was only IP's referencing the 169.* IP block.
Any ideas? My router is a Netgear WNDRMAC-100NAS
