"an Error Prevented Backup From Creating A Snapshot Of The Volumes On This Computer."

Hello all.

I have a new XPS 12 (Windows 8) that I received on Friday, and I've been having issues with getting it to connect to my WHS2011 ever since. It took me a couple of days to get the connector to install, the solution to this can be found here. Unfortunately, after having gotten the connector to install, finally, I've been unable to get the system to back up to the server. I keep receiving the error: "An error prevented backup from creating a snapshot of the volumes on this computer." I've tried turning off write caching, and reducing the partitions that the server tries to back up to only the C: drive. No dice. Speaking of the partitions, here is what I have:



Could this be where the problem lies? I want to wipe out some of these, but don't even know what they are for (I mean, some are recovery obviously, but what's the final 8GB partition? It's a mystery). I've uninstalled all the Dell crapware, and I guess next I should try running a backup from safe mode, but I'm kind of at a loss right now. Any suggestions?
