3Tb Server Backup Disk

I tried searching the forums for this topic and couldn't find anything pertaining to my question so I apologize if I am repeating a topic. I also posted this in the hardware subforum as seems applicable to both. I installed a 3TB HDD in my WHS 2011 SP1 OS and initialized it as a GPT drive and created a 3TB partition using the disk management interface. I then selected this drive to use as a server backup disk in the dashboard interface. It went through the whole procedure to make it a backup disk and when it was done I now have a 3TB (2794.4MB to be exact) server backup disk. I then successfully ran a full server backup. Everything I have read about this topic says that WHS 2011 would make it a 2TB + 1TB disk due to a 2 TB limit in the backup program. What I am concerned about is will this appear to work but then not let me restore from this disk. I have tried a folder restore and that worked fine, but I don't know about a full disk or system restore. Does anybody have any experiences with this scenario?

Update:
I have tried a full disk restore and that worked fine. Have not yet tested a system restore.

Update 2:
I successfully did a system restore from the 3TB drive in a virtual machine. Since that worked I decided to test it on my system. I did a one time backup using the server backup interface to one of my data drives just for insurance and then did a system restore from tha 3TB disk. It worked, so as far as I can tell the 3TB drive works as a server backup disk. The only other thing I can think of that may need to be tested is if it works when tha disk has more then 2TB of backups on it. It seems the 2TB limit may apply to storage disks but not to server backup disks.
