Every once in a great while WHS "drops" a drive and the only way to get it back is to physically open the server and unplug all the drives and plug them back in again. Boot back up and they're all there happy as can be.
The other night my husband decides to load some new music onto his phone, and he says "hey, where's the server?". I go into the server room and the server says "disk boot failure", awesome. So I open up the server, unplug the drives, plug them back in and the server boots and starts loading the OS.
This is where similarities to the issue in the past and my new issue begins. The server thinks all my drives, except for the drive with the OS loaded on it, all all brand new drives. I use cloudberry backup so I have a back up of everything and could add the drives, delete the "missing" drives, and restore the data. But, why does my server not recognize my drives? Same drives that have been in the server for years?
Is there a trick to making the server see them as it's old friends that are "missing"?
