Configuring computer backup fails when installing home server connector

I ran into the following issue when trying to install the home server connector on the second computer. I googled for a solution, did not find one but could solve it by myself after a while. I thought I'd just post it here for others to benefit from it when they also run into this issue.

I have the Tranquil SQA-5H windows home server. It comes with a startup cd with the connector software. When you start the CD you get a menu that contains a button "Run the home server connector on other PCs". During the process it starts with "Now configuring your computer" with (see attached screenshot):
- Joining Windows Home Server » was successful.
- Configuring computer back up » failed.

When I looked in the windows event log, I had the following event:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: HomeServer
Event Category: Connection
Event ID: 1807
Date: 02-01-2009
Time: 19:58:18
User: n.v.t.
Computer: LAPTOP
Description:
Windows Home Server protocol mismatch. This computer uses protocol version 117964800, but partner computer 67f69a20-0692-43cd-8b67-65f80dcab103 uses protocol version 117964824. A connection cannot be established.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The link in the event did not bring up a solution.

I found that there was a newer version of the connector on the homeserver in the folder
\\homeserver\Software\Home Server Connector Software\Setup.exe

By runnig that one, the connector installed correctly.
