Hello all.
I have an issue I'm hoping some of you can offer some guidance on. I have a 1TB drive that contains all my client PC backups that's getting a low free space error. Right now, it shows it's using almost 700GB of that space for client PC backups, but it only has 15GB free. On AWEICO Driveinfo, it shows the same 700GB of client PC backups, and 300GB of "system" files. When I remote in and look at the drive, it shows the same 15GB free, and but if I look at the size of the serverfolders on the drive, it only displays the 700GB that's reflected in client PC backups. I don't see any hidden files or anything else on the drive taking up the space.
However, if I right click the drive and go to properties, under Shadow Copies, it says that 300GB of space is being used by Shadow Copies (the maximum allowed). That seems like a lot. Is it safe for me to reduce the maximum to, say, 100GB to see if that fixes the issue? Or run a command to delete those shadow copies? (CMD>DISKSHADOW>DELETE SHADOWS VOLUME F:)
I'm really not sure where I should be doing with this. Other than perhaps just buying a 2TB drive instead. But with only 700GB of client backups, that feels like it ought to be unnecessary?
Thanks for your help.
