My current setup is 240Gb for OS, an external drive for server backup (which backs up the OS and client backups). I then have 3 x 2Tb drives, one for personal stuff, photos, music, home videos. The other 2 are used for media, TV shows and movies. These 3 drives are backup to external drives using syncback pro on a nightly basis.
I am running out of space and considering using stablebit to create a drive pool, so I can add more space. My concern is how I manage backups for the drive pool, can I still backup each drive as I'm doing now, so if a drive failed, I replace it and copy the data back? Does stablebit split files accross disks? I don't think duplication will work for me because I rotate my backups and leave a copy at work, so I don't have to re-rip everything if something happened.
Can you view the duplications in a pool, or are they hidden, could I exclude them from a backup? If duplications can be filtered from an external backup I could bring my offsite backup home once a month, update it and take it of site again, rather than rotating disks.
If anyone has a similar setup of can offer any advice, I'd realyy appreciate it.
Thanks
Dave
