Hi all,
There are now a couple of threads on 2TB harddrives, but they are confusing or not really straightforward. That's why I would like to compose a list of all the 2TB HD's that work fine with WHSv1. This list may become more important in the future since the news that Vail will drop Drive Extender, so I think most of us will want to stick with WHSv1 for a while longer even when Vail gets released...
I'll need your help with this because, obviously, I've not tested all these disks myself.
4k drives:
Western Digital GreenPower WD20EARS - Works, if you set the jumper. Preferably not to use as the OS drive
Samsung Spinpoint F4EG HD204UI - Problems reported
Regular drives:
Western Digital Caviar Green WDxxEACS / WDxxEADS series - Works
Samsung SpinPoint F3EG Desktop Class HD203WI - Works
Seagate Barracuda LP ST32000542AS - Works
Western Digital Caviar Black WD2001FASS - ?
Hitachi Deskstar 7K2000 - ?
Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EADS - ?
Please help updating this list! (also please report if I've made an error somewhere)
