Ok,
I knew this day would come, just didn't think it would come like this.... Was testing LO on my Acer H340 With WHS v1 and I guess the repeated server shutdowns killed the motherboard. (Not LO fought, the Server ran non stop for ~5 years, and then I go tinkering to allow it to sleep Duh...)
So I have a dead machine (confirmed the PSU is OK), and 17TB of data across 13 Drives.
Do I:
1) Try and repair the Acer and stick with v1
2) Purchase a new machine such as a HP ProLiant G7 N54L and install WHS V1 (not even sure I can)?
3) Purchase a new machine such as a HP ProLiant G7 N54L and install WHS 2011 (not even sure I can) and use one of the drive pooling add-ins?
4) Purchase a new machine such as a HP ProLiant G7 N54L and install Windows 8 (I really like WHS features, and I'm not sure I can do everything with windows 8 as easy as in WHS 2011?
I think I want to do #3 but I just don't know if I can install WHS 2011 on it and have everthing work (I would really like a stable standby mode too)?
How in the world I'm I going to migrate 17TB of data...
I need some advice and direction..
