I had this problem about a year ago and thought I resolved it but not so.
I have an HP Mediasmart Server running Windows Home Server. Model is EX-495. Following are the Server versions:
Windows Home Server Console: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Backup & Restore: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Drive Extender: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Remote Access: 6.0.3436.0
Windows Home Server Storage Manager: 6.0.3039.0
My main client PC is an HP Laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium with all current updates.
The Laptop and other PCs on my network are being automatically backed up to the server as configured.
However when I use the Connector to log into the Server and select a backup file to either examine the files or restore files the system says it is starting to do a Restore and goes through what appears to be opening the backup file. This completes and I NEVER see the file listing. Nothing appears to be improperly installed or configured and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Connector Software. Same result.
Subsequently, I went to another network PC, this one running XP, logged into the Server with the Connector. I can open that PC's backup file and view the file list and I can open the laptop PC's backup file and view the file list.
None of my research turns up anything on this problem. I am NOT getting any errors on the backup or the 'restore' process. It is just that the listing of the files in the backup file will NOT display.
Thanks in advance.
