1st Concern: If a Software is installed on a MAC under a Local User account and then a Network User account is configured and logs into the MAC, will the Software still be available for all users (Local and Network) of that MAC?
2nd Concern: Login and Availability if Server is offline or not available for whatever reason. What is the most "fault-tolerant" way to set up Network Accounts:
A. One option: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4154950 (see Gerben Wierda reply of "It's pretty simple".
B. (pg. 120 of the OSX MLS v1.0 book) - set up ALL Network User Accounts as Mobile Accounts.
Goal: be able to log in with Network User Account when Server and have access to Home Dir files when off-line and synch file automatically when connection re-established.
