Reconnected Pc Not Showing In Dashboard For Backups

I've been running WHS 2011 for a few months with no problems.

Yesterday my Dashboard stopped launching on PC and laptop, but worked on the server.

The fix was eventually to recreate the CA cert on the server. The dashboard now works fine and I can see my backups on the laptop.

However, the PC does not show up in 'computers and backup' and in launchpad it says that 'A backup is not set up for this computer'

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the connector software many times. Each time it says that the PC already exists and that I will need to re-enable the backup in the dashboard - but the PC never appears there!

The launchpad works fine on the PC, I can see the Shared folders, and launch dashboard, but cannot do backups - see message above.

I cannot see any errors in the event logs.

How can the WHS server know the PC already exists but not show it as being connected in the backup tab?

I feel this is related to certificates, as I fixed the initial problem by issue a new root cert, but don't know what to try next?

Any ideas?
