Streaming Problems With Windows Media Centre

I recently followed Terry's "Building a Windows 8 Home Server" ebook to build a new home server. This went well until I found I could not stream movies to other computers on my home network using Windows Media Centre. I have used Tranquil RS5 up until now and this streams like a dream but is now full. When I try to stream moves on the newly built server they freeze after a few minutes or if I try fast forward through the adverts. Do you have any suggestions why this could be? I changed the network settings adaptor to auto negotiate.
