Pending Sector Count And Hdd Health

The HDD in my Acer laptop is a 320Gig Western Digital  WD3200BPVT (WD Blue series).  For a year or more the SMART system has been reporting a Pending Sector Count of 9 an would never resolve.   This caused the drive to get a Health Status of Caution.

Lately when the drive out of the laptop, I used EasyUS Partition Master Professional to:

1) Format disk. (thought problem with laptop was corrupt drive, but it wasn't)

2) Scan and repair  (took this seeing as the drive was formatted to see how many errors would be reported)

3) Wipe Disk option.  (just to see what this actually did)

Now that a client restore was done, laptop is repaired, I ran Crystal Disk Info to report the SMART info.  Now the Pending Sector Count is zero,  and the drive has a Health status of Good.

So, is the drive really 'Fixed' and healthy or is it conditional on if the drive is really losing sectors regularly?    It seemed to have the same count of 9 for a year or more, so maybe it was just that one bad spot?   Just wondering if any other members have run into this before.

BTW, the drive has over 6000 hours run time and power on count of 2230, and has been in use for about 2 years and 2 months.
