I am in BIG stress at the moment.
As my system disk of the Fujitsu Scaleo home server was giving errors and was still only 500GB, I decided to replace it with a 1TB HDD.
Reading some forums and the manual, I first made sure all the important files were dublicated.
Then I replaced the HDD and put the system in recovery mode, started the server recovery CD that came with the system.
Selected the option repair and pressed continue.
Then the program started to warn me that all data will be lost and I stopped the process.
Trying to think logically, I decided to disconnect all the other HDD's and did the recovery with the new HDD alone.
While waiting for the process to be completed, I read the WHS booklet and noticed that it is mentioning that whenever a new HDD is placed it will be formatted. Now I am freaking out!!!!!!
What if I connect the HDD's?
Can I go back to the old system HDD or will the recovery with the new disk not allow that and will the other disks be formatted?
I am completely sick about this situation as all our family photos are on the server and not backed up on another disk.
Please help me
