Restore Problem - Can't Find Server (Nic Driver Issue?)

Hi, for the first time since I set up my WHS I need to restore a client PC (client HD is failing and I have acquired an new larger HD).

Never tried it before (yes I know I should have!).

Had a BSOD on first attempt but figured out it was drivers so found a set of NIC drivers and added them to to the process via USB stick - process otherwise running off restore disk (CD burnt with dual boot ISO off the MS site).

That resulted in a succesfull process until the attempt to find the WHS when the result, regardless of method is that WHS can't be found. Searched a bit more but came the conclusion that drivers might not be right (I had used XP 32 ones) so found Vista 32 ones off mobo suppliers site and refreshed stick with those instead.....same result process was OK until looking for WHS and gain it couldn't be found.

Tried hauling vista 32 drivers off chip manufacturers site (Realtek) and same thing occurred.

In each case if i try the route of typing the server name (advanced network configuration) the response is almost instantaneous - so I don't think its even trying.

Any suggestions please?
