Hi everybody,
Today I need your expertise as I am looking to improve my server configuration.
At the moment I have an homemade Home Server 2011 configuration with 2x 2Tb in mirrored RAID for the serverfolders (I also have 2 HDD racks empty for future extention).
1) my first question is about the server itself. I have subscribed to crashplan for an online backup solution. I am now wondering if the RAID configuration is still needed as I have a backup somewhere else. Do you think I should keep it or use my second disk to extend the storage?
2) my second question is about the client computers, I have always wanted to be able to save my files on the server and sync them with the clients. I am using the offline access to shared folders on my computer to achieve that.
But I am now thinking of moving the folders such as 'desktop', 'my document', etc. directly on the server with them being accessible offline. What do you recommend?
