I have 2 SansDig 4-drive enclosures with USB2 connection to my WHS 2011 machine.
Lately I'm getting warnings that "a drive is missing from the pool" and suspect it's one of the drives in a particular Sans Dig enclosure. However, I can't selectively disconnect these drives one at a time to determine just which is the actual "bad" physical drive - because the whole set of four HDD's disappears when any single one of them is disconnected from the back board in the sans dig.
Has anyone had similar issues, or have suggestions to better troubleshoot this issue?
Also, just so I have a better understanding of the Sans Dig set up - are the drives in the box "numbered" (as are the activity lights 1-4) from top to bottom or vice-versa?

I was happy with my HP MediaSmart server until it up and died on me, and am just getting "familiar" with WHS 2011 (and of course can't get to Microsoft for any tech support...
