So I will be moving over to WS2012E from WHS2011 very soon and need help with Server backups. The reason for the below setup with WHS was the fact sever backups cannot exceed 2TB with WHS.
My current setup for WHS is below:
HDD0 (80GB): Boot Drive
HDD1 (2TB): Media Drive (home movies, pictures etc)
HDD2 (2TB): Client backups, and just general storage.
E-HDD0 (2TB): Backs up the media HDD via a sync application
E-HDD01 (2TB): Server backup, that backs up everything expect the media HDD.
With Essentials I was hoping to bring "storage spaces" into the mix and just simplify everything. I wanted to create 2 "storage spaces" 4TB internal and 4TB external both with no mirrors. The main purpose of this would be to use the external drives storage space as the server backup.
what do you guys thing?
