Php Install Failed

I tried to install PHP on my WHSv1. I first tried using the PHP addin. The test.php page failed. If I renamed the test.php file to test.html, it would at least open in the browser, but the PHP script obviously wouldn't/didn't run.

I then tried uninstalling it and then tried installing one or two other installations of PHP for Windows Server 2003. Somewhere in the process, things got messed up.

Now, if I try to:

1) to launch the home page (ie: http://Server/Home), it results in a 404 error, Page Not Found

2) to launch the remote page (ie: https://Server/Remote), it results in a "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" error.

This happens at both a workstation on the lan *and* at the server itself.

Likewise, if I try to launch the external site (ie: http://xxxxxx.homeserver.com), I again get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" error.

However, when I launch the HP System Management Homepage at https://localhost:2381/ (while at the server itself), it works fine. I can also still display the test.html page I created/renamed earlier (without PHP working, of course). This leads me to believe that IIS is working, but something in ASP.NET got messed up.

Also, ...

3) When I am in the Windows Home Server Console, everything seems to be working ... backups are being done, users and shared folders are all working, network health reports good ... *except* ...

If I click on the Settings tab, a distorted window appears for about 5-10 seconds, then the Server Console crashes.

When the Console crashes, under Event Viewer/Application, there are two entries for StableBit Scanner Console, and one entry for .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting.

Oh, and I can't uninstall StableBit because I can't get into the settings tab (not that I think that's what's causing the problem; it worked fine before I mucked around with PHP, but who knows ... )

I know *nothing* about .NET, how to troubleshoot it, nor how to fix it. Any thoughts? I *really* don't want to have to do a repair/reinstall of the OS.

Thanks in advance!

Malcolm
