I am currently running a network with both WHS2011 and WSE2012 they are the only two PC's that I haven't been able to get to work together. I tried to change the settings in System to switch the 2011 server from the workgroup over to the domain but that option is greyed out. I also went into regedit and changed the computer name to the same name as my domain name but that only changed the servers name and now Server 2012 wasn't listed in the network navigation panel in Windows Explorer. I could now get into the 2011 machine from the 2012 machine but although it listed all of the folders from 2011 box they were all listed as empty when I opened them. Any idea how I can get these to file share I believe that both administrator accounts are the same name and password but that isn't helping my cause out any.
Ok fellas I changed the computer name again in regedit from my domain name to simply WHS2011 now I can access WSE2012 shares and vice versa but I now have a listing for the domain name the original SERVER name and my new WHS2011 when I open Network. The domain name is unaccessible but Server and WHS2011 show the same folders. How would I get rid of the additional Server Names
