About a month ago I noticed that I seem to have a considerable memory leak. I have no clue when this started happening because I seldom ever RDP into my server (though I probably should more often). Before I continue, here's a breakdown of my rig:
Dell SC440, Xeon 3060 CPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD system drive, 1TB storage consisting of two 1TB disks in RAID 1 on a SAS 5/iR controller
The following is all of the software and add-ins that are installed:
WHS 2011 (fully updated as of today), AWEICO DriveInfo, RemoteLauncher, WakeOnLAN; Malwarebytes; MSE, Skydrive, Windows Phone Connector
Enabled roles are as follows:
Active Directory Certificate Services; Network Policy and Access Services; Print and Document Services; IIS
The behavior I've been noticing is that within a few days following a restart memory consumption climbs quite high. For example, today there were 5.6 GB in use with no programs running, no Dashboard session open and no backups in progress. The three processes consuming the most memory are w3wp.exe, svchost.exe and SharedServiceHost.exe. I ran a Malwarebytes scan following a reboot to exclude the possibility of any nasties lurking somewhere on the system and it came up clean. This is my first time attempting to hunt down the cause of a memory leak, and I figured I'd post on here first to see if anyone has experienced a similar problem before delving deeper. It should go without saying that any advice will be greatly appreciated.
