Correct Bios Sata Controller Settings

My first post though I have been lurking for some years. I have a running WHS v1 but want to try the 2011 version.

I have ordered the parts and relevent to this post is the MoBo - Gigabyte GA-D525TUD with Atom processor, and the hard drives - 2 x 2TB WD20EARX. The MoBo has 2 Intel(?) SATA sockets and 2 Gigabyte. These Gigabyte ones are configurable for RAID.

I intend to load the OS onto 1 HD then add the 2nd and set up Raid 1 within WHS software. And backup of course :-)

Now what I haven't been able to discover is whether the SATA controller settings should be IDE, AHCI or RAID. I think that the RAID setting isn't needed if WHS sets up the RAID 1 but I'm not sure? And what of the other two options in this context? And are both controllers to have the same settings?

To be honest, I've never changed this setting from default when building a PC but then I've never used RAID either!

So, can anyone solve this for me please? Which setting is best for WHS 2011 with RAID 1 set up within the software?
