Hi All,
I upgraded to 2012 Essentials a few months ago and decided to format my data partition as ReFS. New is better, right? I haven't given my backups much thought, as they always complete successfully. Today, however, I tried to restore a file located on the ReFS partition, and there were no files listed in the backup of the ReFS partition! I was luckily able to get the file back via shadow copies, but this got me a bit concerned to say the least.
I opened Windows Backup on the server and got the same result. The backup states that it completed successfully (looks like its been doing full backups every night of the ReFS partition, after further research it appears you can't do incrementals on this type of partition.) But still, I'm unable to browse the files within the backup.
Does Windows Backup not support file-level backups of ReFS partitions? "Resilient" or not, I'm tempted to migrate my data to an NTFS partition.
Wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue...
