Hi folks,
Problems getting my Canon i865 network printer talking with a 64 bit client machine.
Basically, i865 installed on my home server (v1) with all drivers installed. Used to be able to use this no probs with a 32 bit XP client. However, now upgraded to Windows 8 64 bit.
Printer still installed on WHS, but add printer wizard gives problems when trying to download the driver from WHS (can't remeber specific errors - been trying that many things!).
Also tried manual route by create new port, but still same problems of incompatible drivers etc.
Unfortunately, looks like Canon don't do a specific 64 bit driver. Rather you install an older XP version and then an update "module" for 64 bit capabilities.
Can anyone give a simple guide on how to get this setup working? I remember a day when I used to like computers!
Thanks,
Steve
