Weird problem that's been tough to solve... fyi, I have an Intel SS4200E/Scaleo running WHS v1 PP3 with an attached video card and USB keyboard/mouse (so it's NOT headless) .
I use a basic A/B video switch to share a VGA video monitor btw my server and another PC. Picture below....

Switching the monitor back and forth between server and PC works fine when I've recently booted the server, and seemingly for hours later as well. HOWEVER on the next day, if I switch the monitor from PC to server, the monitor doesn't "wake up". That is, I don't see anything onscreen, and the monitor eventually goes into Power Save mode. Even if I type something or move the mouse.
Any idea what gives here? My server is clearly still working (I can access it via the WHS connector and via file sharing on other PCs on the network). I've already gone into the server's control panel and disabled the screen saver and changed the power options to "always on". Also recently did a completely new install (with a fresh system drive and all Microsoft updates), and it didn't sort out the problem.
