Hi Guys,
I have an HP Microserver running WHS2011 over a gigabit network. I have my Film and TV folders shared by Samba, which my Popcornhour C200 and WD Live box pickup with no problem. I dont use any "on the fly" converting, just straight shares.
Everything was working pefectly until a couple of weeks ago, when for some reason films started to stutter. I had not changed any settings to do with my network card (apart from the recommended settings from here - Offload disabled etc) I also do not have a huge amount of programmes running on the server either. Forefront Client, Utorrent, Livedrive, Logmein, Dropbox, Stablebit Drivepool, synctoy
I have turned off all these programmes, and still the stuttering remains. I have tried different ports with no difference. What is the best way of troubleshooting this issue?
I also have checked the processing and memory - nothing is maxing out when the stuttering occurs.. Also the stuttering does not occur for about 10-15minutes into a film..
Also any recomendations on a network card upgrade? Could this help?
thanks in advance
Nick
