Hi,
I'm in need of some help with my HP Data Vault X311. Suddenly after a reboot the health light was blinking (blueish) and then turned solid red, and from what I understand this means operating system failure. I could not get any connection to the server so I thought a server recovery should take care of the problem, but the thing is I cant get past step 4 of 4. I'v searched the forum for tip on successfully get past all the steps but nothing seems to work. I have tried:
- Boot into safe mode with networking on the client PC
- Disabled wireless connection on the client PC
- Disabled firewall and antivirus
- Direct connection with ethernet cable (tried several cables)
- Disconnected all drives but the system drive on the server
- Tried with static IP
I see the server and the client PC on the DHCP tab in Tftpd32 with IP 169.37.37.37 and 169.38.38.38, still I cant get past step 4. Could this mean my system drive is corrupt? If so, if I don't care to much about the data on the server, is it possible to take one of the other drives and use as system drive? Do I have to format that drive on another computer beforehand or does a server recovery do it for me? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
