Hello all,
I built a machine a couple years ago (whs 2008) and I decided to update to WHS 2011.
The motherboard is an ASUS M4A78T-E while the processor is an AMD Phenom II X2 555 processor 3.21 Ghz. We have 3.75 GB Ram in the server. Memory sticks are 2 sticks of Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333 MHz (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory (TW3X4G1333C9A).
I am trying to update to the 64 bit version of WHS but am not sure if I am missing something. Motherboard seems to support 64 bit but I am not sure about the processor. When I attempt to boot up from the installation disc I get a blue screen indicating SQL_LESS_THAN_EQUAL which I have read means there is a hardware compatibility issue. Only thing I could think of would be the processor. If not, could the memory cause these issues?
I somehow got the software to install but it froze on the Update and Preparing Server Screen. It ran all night and never got above 0%. I ended up forcing the program to stop using task manager. At that point I tried to install updates hoping that would somehow solve it in a backwards kind of way but no luck. This froze on me after a reboot and now I am running into that blue screen error again while trying to reinstall it.
Obviously some major issues here. Thanks in advance for any help or direction you could provide me.
