Mediawiki Install ---Require Assistance

Hi all,

I have been running mediawiki (using wampserver) on an old XP machine for sometime. I recently upgraded to WHS2011. I am now having issues trying to get it to work the way I want. Since WHs2011 has IIS there is no need for wampserver, infact it would cause issues with WHS2011 server. I have SQL and PHP installed and used the windows installer to install mediawiki. If I install mediawiki via the windows installer directly to my "C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\WebApps\Site\" folder (which is the default folder structure) it seems to work fine. The issue I have with that install is the fact that mediawiki is now on my C: drive, when I want it installed on my e: drive which is my first shared hard drive. My e: drive is my primary storage drive which is backed up by my f: drive, so it makes sense to set it up this way.

When I install mediawiki on my e: drive directly; I cannot get it to work. When I go to my http://localhost/mywiki/ I am prompted to setup mediawiki (which is correct since there is no "localsettings.php" file) However, when I click setup, I receive an error that "MessagesEn.php is missing." I have tried to recopy that file over and that doesn't make a difference. I tried multiple reinstalls and sometimes I am greeted with the above error or, I am greeted with "HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found" and it shows it's looking for the file in wrong path:

Requested URL            http://localhost:80/mediawiki/

Physical Path    C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\WebApps\Site\mediawiki\

As you can see it is looking in the C: drive for the mediawiki files, when I’ve installed them on my E: drive.

I never had any issues ever setting up mediawiki using wampserver, so I am attempted to revert back to a windows XP solution. However, the whole purpose of me installing WHS2011 was to install the OS on my C: drive. Install mediawiki on my e: drive (500gb) and use my f: drive (500gb) to perform daily backups of the e: drive.

If anyone has a solution, I would greatly appreciate it

Regards

Ian
