I've got an HP Mediasmart EX485 machine where the main drive has died. I'm trying to determine the number and size of the drives I need to install to get the machine ready for it's new owner.
The system is going to the office of a small non-profit that has four computers. Their main need is for sharing an Access database (which they're doing now with an existing user's PC). They're also excited about the Client PC backup feature of WHS.
What size drive(s) should I use? How many?
I'm thinking just two drives, but not sure what size I need. Their storage needs are pretty minimal. The Access database is maybe 100MB max. The client PCs don't have much on them. That's about it. They're not going to be growing or adding a bunch of users down the road. They're on a tight budget.
Just yesterday I ended up with a working WD 80GB VelociRaptor 10,000 RPM drive. Trying to figure out if that could be one of my two drives. Seems like it would be pretty cool to have the database running on it for a little boost in performance. But I'm having trouble visualizing how I would configure things in WHS so that the database lived on the 10K drive.
