Hi
I've been using WHS v1 as a media server successfully on my HP SmartServer vertually since it came out. A couple of years ago I added an XBox front end to get photos, music and home movies to my TV....again no problems. I've recently upgraded my video camera to 1080p and the problems started. The dreaded video stutter! I've had my entire system in pieces - network monitors, process monitors bit rates up and down and the like. I guess most of you know what its like when the kit Should work but it just Won't. I've looked at so many posts on the subject my eyes hurt.
So....I finally found an equipment manufacturers post that suggested that the Xbox has a "known" problem playing 1080p. It said that 720 was OK, but not 1080. So I re-did my video at 720 and it played perfectly on the XBox - no problem at all.
My question, I plan to get a proper HD media server that links to my WHS v1 system and plays 1080p. Candidates for the server for example include; Omega 35040 1TB ScreenPlay DX HD Wireless Media Player and the WD TV Live Hub Media Center. Has anyone got any experience please of using these or any other high quality media player with WHS
Thanks, advice appreciated
