Six weeks running WHS 2011 and zero backups. The client has a Intel SSD boot drive and 3 2TB data drives. It's a fresh install on 7 Ultimate with updates applied. There is no 3rd party stuff installed besides drivers. The built in Windows 7 backup does work but every single time whs 2011 initiates one it hangs at 1%. I've been trying various fixes and nothing. I've tried backing up only non system drives. I've reinstalled client and server a few times. I've done chkdsks and scans. Nothing works. I've gotten rid of just about every error in the event viewer. The only two errors I'm now seeing in the event viewer are:
Backup job # on SERVER did not succeed. Reason: ClientVssProblem, System.String[]
The server {E579AB5F-1CC4-44B4-BED9-DE0991FF0623} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
The client vss error happens during every backup. The DCOM error sometimes happens and other times doesn't.
The only other thing I can find is in the SharedServiceHost-BackupClientConfig log:
