So I just finished the reinstallation and data recovery process for a failed system drive...was not fun. But I'm finally back up and running.
Was just wondering if you guys could drop a few recommendations for an automated backup solution for the data shares to an ext. usb drive. I keep an external usb drive hooked up to my server at all times, and I periodically backup my shares up manually. Is there a good plug-in or even a pay-software solution (that you guys have experience with) that will run on my server and automatically backup the data shares at configurable times?
Ideally, what I'd want is an incremental backup program that will index what I have on the external drive and also index what I have in my shared folders..and then compare the two. That way it only backs up newly added files.
The ext. usb drive that I have (2TB WD) did come with software that I believe would do what I want, but unfortunately, it won't run on Windows Server 2003.
