hi , first of all i'm not sure i'm in the right directory to place this issue , and also my english isn't perfect since i'm from belgium ...
i'm also a new member of the forum , since i need some expertise in solving my personal issue ...
i hope there are some smarter persons around me in this forum becaus i'm stuck at the moment ...
this is the situation :
i suggested to a friend that he should buy the HP Proliant Microserver n40l , and that was a good choice , but now comes the shizzle ...
since he is a apple fanboy , he stores all his music on the server , with WHS 2011 installed , and he wants itunes to run from the server and distribute music over the netwerk with the server as starting point , then , when he uses airplay , he not haves to use his imac and just use the iphone to push music to his music installation with apple's remote ...
its all simple , and most of the things i'm saying right now should work. but now you will understand why i'm putting this in the hardware directory.
i bought 2 USB audio cards , 1 from Trust (the 5.1) and another one , an exotic model , at time of writing i can't say the name becaus i'm not having it at this time , if required i can tell you later .
problem is i'm not able to install audio cards ... if i put them into the server they are being preinstalled by whs directly , but it are the wrong drivers and there are no sound devices found ...
are there specific settings i have to change in WHS to be able to install a sound card in WHS 2011 ? is there a specific card i have to buy ? i wan't to give you any information you want but at this time i'm not at my friends house so if i get any question i will give response to them when i know the answer , i'm goane set up a remote connection today so that i can manage the server from my house.
thanx in advance for anyone who's goane push me in the right direction ...
