I'm trying to get more life from my WHS11 setup so will move to a newer HW Platform (from the Tranquil SHQ-5H Atom based PC to a i5). Anyway, I'm not worried about transferring all my media content (in a Drive Bender pool) but what is the "best" approach to port the stuff on my "main" drive's 3 Partitions (eg 100MB Reserved, 60GB C: OS, and D: Data). I don't want to lose my Backup database.
I could try just plugging in the existing HDD to the new Motherboard and hope that Windows Device Mgr copes with all the HW changes but this approach (from experience) is about 50/50.
If that fails is there a way of doing a clean WHS11 install then importing the Backup Data base?
Thanks
Nathan
