For the last couple of months I have been unable to connect to my WHS website remotely; reparing the connection resulted in a yellow triangle saying automatic uPnP configuration failed. Since I have not touched the firewall settings on my AT&T U-Verse 3800HGV-B router in ages, I thought it was the Microsoft hosting site being flaky again.
I triple-checked the firewall pinholes again, and they were correct. I looked for a service that was stopped, but nothing looked relevant. So, based on this WGS article, I added some registry entries on the server and rebooted. Since then I am unable to RDP into the server or log into the console. I have several messages:
This computer cannot connect to your home server. (from WHS console login)
This computer cannot connect to the remote computer. (from RDP login)
Updating port forwarding for your computer failed.
How do I reach the server to delete those entries and revert back to this morning's configuration? Do I need to reinstall WHS v1 PP3?
