I have spent most of the weekend trying to get this working, but I have had no luck so far so really need some help.
I have recently installed a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 2200 PCI-E TV tuner into my home server, with the idea that I can stream the TV channels over the internet while I am away, and be able to watch TV via my raspberry pi (runnung XMBC)
I have tried the TV4Home plugin, but this didn't work, I then tried XMBC (installed, but errors prevented it form running), MediaPortal (installed but could not access web page) TVersity (couldnt find a web streaming opttion for TV) and VLC (no idea how to go about setting it up!)
I am at a loss as to what to try next. All I want to do is stream a single TV tuner to a web page so I can watch TV remotly. At this stage I dont even mind of the RaspberryPi cant pick it up! I would also like to be able to access a guide/EPG and maybe set up recordings.
I get the impression that I may need to move away from WHS 2011 and towards something less server-like (Windows 7) and install a 3rd party media server such as MediaPortal/XBMC to handle everything. I have also been looking at changing to Windows Server 2012 Essentials (before I started having all these issues) so if i need to change my OS to get it to work, that isnt the end of the world
Has anyone had any success with this or any advice on how to get this to work?
