Usually I can figure this stuff out, but this one is puzzling. I have an ASUS P8Z77-V Pro board that has the Intel LAN controller... so the driver was fun to finally get installed, but now I have a network drop problem. This server is wired in of course to a Linksys EA3500 router that has never dropped a connection on any of my other computers (wired and wireless). It only drops the server from time to time, but especially when I remote desktop into it. That and Dashboard opening from my laptop or other computers seems to trigger it as well. I get the yellow triangle and it usually gives me an error of "default gateway is not available", or "connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the Internet is broken", but like I said, I never lose connection on another computer.
The yellow triangle is always fixed by troubleshooting it, but I always have to manually do that or reset the server. With it being a new board, I think it's a bad Intel controller, but it seems to be software related due to the only trigger being a remote desktop/dashboard connection attempt. There is nothing special with the router and the driver is fully up to date. This isn't an internet issue, it is the connection between the computer and router that is the problem.
Anyone else experienced this with Intel LAN controllers?
