Just to ask someone who has this experience.
After about 2 years of running this server, i think its about time for me to swap the OS disk to a new one, before it fail on me.
So I bought a new hardisk of ITB, did a clone copy of the OS disk to this new one. Placed it inside, and ran.
Well it works alright. But the WHS server storage software recognise it as a new disk instead. Obviously the old one (which was cloned and removed) is obviously absent.
How to make the WHS recognise the new disk as a replacement to the old one without formating it away as if it is a new disk ?
Any idea will be very helpful as I am not exactly an IT expert. Neither do I want to take risk to risk data loss.
Thanks.
