Issue Connecting To The Server

Hi,

I'm finally getting chance to playing around with the server.
It's all installed etc and when i used my work computer to connect to http://myserver/connect wirelessly in the same room i have no problem (only problem is i cant go further because i'm not the admin to install) so i got to my desktop which i have in a different room also wireless and typing in the same info it won't connect, says its timed out. The server is next to my router and the desktop has no problem connecting to the internet wirelessly. Anyway i connected a 15m cable from the desktop into the router and i still can't connect. What am i missing?

Edit - also am i having a blonde moment, at home should i just map the server as a network drive? Still learning.
